Zurich & OnePath conducted research involving a range of stakeholders. It uncovered two key messages - the first was that people want certainty, the second key message Zurich & OnePath uncovered was the important of flexibility.
Some customers were conscious of the increased healthcare costs that could be incurred early in a claim and wanted the flexibility to have the severity temporarily boosted - and, these customers were willing to pay for that feature.
Zurich & OnePath have, in direct response to feedback, made these two considerations central to product design in disability income protection.
Crabbe explains, as changes around disability income protection products, come into effect advisers should familiarise themselves with the differences between legacy products some clients may be covered by and new offerings.
