Financial planners are stepping up to the plate as the key decision maker to the investment strategy for their clients. In the past, much of the work is done by a single researcher with little to no input from the adviser, but this is no longer the case. This is not to say that they do this in isolation. On the contrary, they work with their client, their in-house investment committee and, increasingly, more than two fund researchers.
This offers a great outcome for their clients and signals a departure from the way fund research had been done in the past.
