People often say "I can't wait to retire" when what they really mean is "I can't wait until I have all the time in the world to pursue my passion projects."
There's a word for it in Japanese: ikigai or 'a reason for being'. Once you take away the need to work 9 to 5, you have to figure out what you'd like to do with all the time in your hands.
