Claire Wivell Plater co-founded Gold Seal in 2002 to meet the need for specialist law services to help the financial services industry with legal, regulatory and commercial challenges. Known as The Fold since August 2012, the firm now services all sectors of the industry Australia wide from its offices in Brisbane and Sydney.
Claire spent the first 17 years of her career as an insurance law specialist with Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper) where she served 11 years as a partner. Before founding Gold Seal, she spent 3 years as AGM Corporate Development with ING.
Claire and The Fold are highly regarded for their industry knowledge, pragmatism and commerciality. Claire is a prolific commentator and public speaker on regulatory and legal issues and is a long standing member of the Business Advisory Committee to ASIC's Licensing Division.
