BlackRock's Adam Hess was crowned the winner of the 2015 Finance Industry Community Aid Program (FICAP) Who Wants to be a Rockstar competition, for his fiery performance of The Killers' Mr Brightside.
Hess was also given the Challenger Best Male Artist Award. Perpetual's Theresa Le was awarded the Colonial First State Best Female Artist Award for Alicia Keys' New York State of Mind, while ANZ's Jodie Hanson was handed the ANZ People's Choice Award for Dolly Parton's 9 to 5.
Zurich's Karli Mann was the biggest surprise, leading the 800-strong crowd in a performance of Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk, which invited (or demanded) audience participation. She was given Perpetual's Best Newcomer Award.
Other standout performers were Fidelity's Dinah Sutton doing Madonna's Vogue and NABInvest's Christelle Hechter singing Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know with just as much fury as the original.
Held at The Ivy, this year's Rockstar event saw FICAP reach its goal of raising $1 million for charity by 2016. Proceeds will be distributed between The Shepherd Centre, Redkite's Support a Young Person Program and Weave's Kool Kids Club.
"Our aim was to raise one million dollars by our tenth anniversary and thanks to the incredible support of the financial services community we have exceeded that target well ahead of schedule," said FICAP co-founder Chris Larsen.
"We're thrilled at the success of last night's event. We had record numbers across the board in terms of attendance, as well as record money raised through our live and silent auctions and raffle."
