Kumar Palghat is a founder and Managing Director of Kapstream Capital. He is head of Portfolio Management and co-head of Business Management.

Prior to forming Kapstream, Kumar was Director and Head of Portfolio Management, Asia Pacific, for PIMCO Australia from 2001 to late 2006. Kumar joined PIMCO in 1997, and served as Global Portfolio Manager in its Newport Beach, California headquarters until his move to Sydney in 2001. Prior to joining PIMCO, Kumar was Senior Investment Officer at The World Bank, Washington D.C., from 1988 to 1997, where he was part of a team managing a fixed interest portfolio of over $30 billion.

Kumar holds a B'com in business from Bangalore University, India, and an MBA in finance/marketing from Marymount University, U.S.A. Kumar has guest lectured at University of Virginia and University of Chicago. Kumar is also a CFA charter holder.
